Partnerships for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools (PINS) Programme

We are thrilled to announce that we are involved within the Partnership for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools (PINS) Programme for North Yorkshire!

The PINS programme will run between January 2024 and March 2025 and is available to be accessed by every Integrated Care Board (ICB) in England, who will work with 40 chosen mainstream primary schools per ICB area. The programme is funded by the Department for Education (DfE), supported by the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) and NHS England (NHSE).

The purpose of the PINS programme is to improve the experience of mainstream school for children who may have an additional educational need. Partnerships for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools (PINS) will bring health and education specialists and expert parent carers into mainstream primary settings to:

• Help shape whole school SEND provision.

• Provide early interventions at a whole school level.

• Upskill school staff.

• Support strengthening of partnerships between schools and parent carers.

We are an integral part of the programme, working closely with North Yorkshire and Humber ICB and with the parents and carers and education staff within the chosen schools.

We aim to share information, decrease isolation and develop or strengthen positive relationships between parent carers and the school. Identify and develop in co-production specific areas of school practice.

By working co-operatively with the school, parent carers can have their voices heard and contribute to improvements in the services delivered for children and young people with SEND.
